What is HumaneSolution.com?

HumaneSolution.com is an online service for spay/neuter clinics that enables them to schedule client visits, enter their animals, invoice clients, and build a number reports.

HumaneSolution.com is not a complete accounting program, not a point-of-sale program, and is not meant for the full-service veterinarian. It's mainly a data entry tool for entering details about animals, billing for services rendered, and building some statistical reports relevant to spay/neuter clinics. The accounting features in the program are mainly limited to managing accounts receivable.

HumaneSolution.com offers some sophisticated invoicing tools. You can split fees for individual services over multiple clients--manually or automatically--based on conditions you specify. You can bill services to grant funds and track the balances of those funds. You can associate an animal both with an individual owner and a "volume client" or organization at the same time, and easily divide the service fees between the two.

How much does it cost?

There are three membership plans priced as follows. The prices are all per year.

Administrator Each clinic requires one administrator account. If you register a new clinic, this is the membership plan you use. $519.00
Employee Used for clinic employees who are not the administrator. $119.00
Client Allows your clients read-only access to the data pertaining to them. $48.00

Note also that anyone can use HumaneSolution.com free for 30 days.

What kind of support do we get? Is there an uptime guarantee?

There's an online forum where you can post questions and get answers online. That's normally a good option for getting support.

You can also contact me, Adam O'Neil, the site's developer. My contact info is detailed on the Contact page. I check the forum throughout the day, usually, but not on any guaranteed schedule.

There is no uptime guarantee. I do my best to keep it running. Since October 2008 we've had one unplanned outage that lasted an hour. We've had very good system performance since October 2008. (Prior to October 2008, I had some performance problems with the site as a result of increased user traffic that I hadn't planned for.)

Can we get a copy of the data we enter?

Yes. You can download a copy of your database in Microsoft Access format at any time. You can build your own reports with it if you know how.

Other downloads are also available in Microsoft Excel format but they aren't as comprehensive as the Access download.

Will you customize the site for our specific needs?

Yes, but it does depend on what you want. I'm always eager to know what features people are looking for that Marianne Luft at Humane Alliance or I haven't thought of. I've implemented custom features for several clinics. These customizations on average cost about $200. It very much depends on what you want, but customizations don't have to be very expensive.

How many clinics are actively using HumaneSolution.com?

As of right now (9/5/2010), there are 37 active clinics around the country with 1,096,029 total animals entered. Humane Alliance in Asheville has over 100,000 animals entered.
